Corporate pharmacist escapee 💊
To 7-Figure Inbound Sales Strategist 💸
In 2o18, I quit pharmacy.
After dedicating over 12 years of my life to becoming a pharmacist and climbing the corporate ladder, I had enough.
So I took the leap of faith and quit after my dad passed away in search of a better oath.
But right after saying goodbye to my prestigious six-figure career, I was back at square one, making $100 / month as a YouTuber.
While mastering the art of talking to a camera by myself for hours, I dug deeper into the world of digital marketing and inbound sales.
So I invested in a few online programs and thought it would be easy to land a client. After all, the “gurus” promised that this was a high-demand lucrative business model of the century, right?
They were wrong.
I went 6 months without finding a client.
The gurus weren’t completely wrong. This industry was in high demand for experienced sales professionals, not for beginners.
The market was saturated with new “high-ticket closers”, who couldn’t perform and business owners didn’t want to take the risk of paying for leads even if it was performance-based.
Then the big moment happened.
We landed a ClickFunnels 2 comma club client, who was growing rapidly and scaling. It was time to say hello to the five-figure paydays, right? Wrong.
A month into the contract, I almost got fired. The truth was that everything I learned in the “guru” program failed miserably and wasn’t working.
Luckily the sales manager gave me a second chance. That’s when the magic happened 🪄
In less than a year, i scaled my client’s business from 6 to 7 figures after almost getting fired.
If I wanted this to work, I needed to learn this industry fast.
So I made friends with the top sales performers, reverse-engineered their process, and read 90% of the sales books on Amazon.
Sometimes the things I experiment with worked, but 90% of the time I crashed and burned. This is when I realized that trial and error is the most expensive way to learn.
But because I knew how to learn from my pharmacy career, I cracked the code.
And in less than a year, I scaled the business with my partner to $1.2 million in top-line revenue within 10 months.
We went from the bottom 50 to the top 3 performers on the sales team. The crazy thing? We consistently outperformed salespeople with over 20 years of experience.
What’s the secret sauce?
Because of my healthcare experience, I was able to incorporate the soft skills of patient care into inbound sales.
My approach to selling was a more personalized, professional, neuroscience-based approach to selling compared to traditional high-pressure sales tactics.
So I started sharing my lessons, mistakes, and experiences of what I was learning online as a newbie on YouTube. And something crazy happened…
My YouTube started going viral
Opportunities started opening up. At first, business owners started reaching out to me for consulting, closing opportunities, and joint ventures.
Then I started getting referrals from past clients. And then finally, people around the world started asking me to help and coach them with inbound sales.
At first, I was reluctant. There were so many other sales trainers out there with more experience. I didn’t want to be another “guru”.
But then, I realized people didn’t have any other choices available. They weren’t looking for a guru.
They needed a guide who they could trust.
Selling needs to change.
When I ask most sales reps why got into sales, 99% respond with the answer… money.
Money isn’t bad. But I’m not surprised why people think selling is pushy, sleazy, and manipulative. Especially with the internet, traditional selling is dead.
But what if we treated selling as a service instead?
Modern-day selling isn’t about convincing or persuading. It’s determining whether there’s a need suitable enough to take action for the next step.
And it means not jumping to the solution, but helping our potential clients in three ways before even talking about possible solutions:
- Diagnosing the “real” problem their facing
- Seeing if we can even help in the first place
- Discussing to see if their problem is even worth solving
If we took a more service-based approach, how differently would you feel about selling? Probably a lot better.
So that’s when I started my inbound sales advisory, Kaizen Closing.
Who we are 👋
Today I run Kaizen Closing, a boutique inbound sales advisory dedicated to helping sales professionals and businesses maximize their impact and revenue by selling their high ticket offers.
By using a professional, consultant-focused, neuroscience-backed, relationship-based sales process, we’ve helped scale our clients past 7 figures.
We focus on custom inbound sales solutions ranging from from 1-on-1 inbound sales coaching, organizational team trainings, high ticket offers consulting, and inbound sales fulfillment for select businesses.
Our approach isn’t by making guru promises or manipulating people; but focusing on building long-term relationships.
Our mission is simple 🚀
To lead the inbound sales industry by teaching others how to help, impact, and serve people by selling irresistible offers that are needed in the world.
We do this by focusing on sales conversations, crafting irresistible offers, and optimizing pricing strategies.
There are enough bait and switch offers and manipulative people out there. We don’t need to add to the noise.
By treating people with respect and doing them right, we not only maximize revenue, but we create a lifestyle that offers control of time, income, and the impact that aligns with our values.
Our core belief is this: selling isn’t about closing a sale; it’s about building a long-term relationship.
Here is what we care about
Belief #1: Be impeccable with our word
After living in Los Angeles for 8 years, I got tired of the LA flaker vibe. Keeping our word means honoring our commitments while communicating what we’re exactly thinking with tact and empathy. It’s the highest form of respecting the relationship between ourselves and the people around us.
Belief #2: Avoid assumptions
Assumptions lead to miscommunication and misunderstandings. Everyone has their own unique experiences, values, and beliefs. When we take the time to understand our counterparts, it opens the space for honest communication.
Belief #3: Avoid reacting
Sometimes people will negatively react to a situation. But sometimes their reaction has nothing to do with us but is based on their past experiences. Rather than reacting with our survival response, it’s our responsibility to stay in our executive state so that we can facilitate collaboration, compassion, and empathy.
Belief #4: Always doing our best
None of us will be perfect. Our best is always changing depending if we’re healthy or sick. But no matter what, it means keeping our word, communicating when we can’t, and avoiding self-judgment and abuse while taking responsibility for our actions. It’s not easy, but doing so will help accelerate our growth..
